2011.04.10 The Book is at the Printers!

The manuscript has now been formatted by the Printers in China. They originally had a problem with a couple of low-resolution photos, which my Graphics-guy has now resolved. It is now going through the process of Printing, folding, cutting, and Binding in an impressive modern factory unit in Shenzhen, S.China. This process should be complete by about 20th April, 2011. The Books will then be ready to Ship to USA, Britain, Japan, and Europe, etc. Shipping to these destinations will take about 3 (to Europe) or 4 (to East USA) weeks. They will also be available from me to send directly from Hong Kong via Airmail or Courier. To give you an idea of what the final Book looks like we have compiled the following pages for your perusal ... use your cursor to “turn the pages” of the Book below ...

The “CBX Book is progressing as fast as we can do it here in Hong Kong. I will keep you informed of the progress here at ‘CAM’ and with updates on the various Club Websites, so please keep checking back. The Book is coming ... soon!!!

The Final Mark-up is now complete and being amended by my Graphics-Guy. Once finished I will read and checked it one final time, then it will be on its way to the Printers! If everything goes to Plan (Printing, China Permits, Customs, Shipping, etc) it should be on British and USA soil in early-April. I will be back in UK to co-ordinate Distribution of the Book around Britain and on to CBXers in Europe. Louis at ‘www.usedcbxparts.com’ and Jan at ICOA have kindly offered to help me distribute the Books in USA, Canada, and S.America. You will Order the Book from me, and they will Ship to you. Clubs in Europe are also kindly co-ordinating distribution. Remember this book is the product of a non-profit-making ‘Hobby,’ being self-Published, self-Printed, self-Distributed and self-Financed to promote the CBX ... so please bear with me!

The Price : The “Early-Bird Price” for the Book is as promised £26.oo / US$40.oo / 32,oo€. This will have to increase to the “Real Price” of £36.oo from 1st July, 2011 onwards (4 1/2 months from now), so please Order FAST to avoid disappointment! Payment by PayPal, British £-Sterling Check, or Cash via Registered Courier/Airmail will be the easiest as I am an Irishman, based in Hong Kong! Note. I will advise buyers on Postage charges in USA, Britain, and around the World when final weight is known.

How to Order : Once I have confirmation that the Books are on Ships to USA and Britain I will email around all the folks who have expressed an interest and are on my ‘Order List,’ and direct you how to Order and Pay for the Book. To get on the List please email me at ian@netvigator.com.

The Contents : The Book is now 400 pages thick, A4 size (310 x 225 x 36mm), Printed in full colour, hardbound, and covering every aspect of CBXs and CBXers I could think of. It looks like an ‘Encyclopedia,’ not a Book!! I think you will enjoy the read, which covers : The History; the Design Phase; a Factory visit in 1978; the various CBX Models presented; Aftermarket Frames; Personal Specials; Racing CBXs; other CBXs; other inline-6s; CBX Clubs; etc, etc! Volume 2 of the Book is already being planned, if Volume 1 sells and allows me to recoup my considerable expenses!! The Book’s main aim is to promote the CBX, so please make your VJMC and Classic Biker friends aware of it. It is being sold VERY cheaply to encourage non-CBXers to get it thus spreading the “Word” about these great machines! I intend giving FREE copies of the Book to all the Motorcycle Journalists I can find around the World (any introductions welcomed), so that the CBX can hopefully be promoted in the International magazines.
